(more)

Casa de Cultura -
18th, 2014

The first time is always a charm. For my volunteer service, I decided to take a nice break away from children and dip my foot into the world of Adult Education. I wanted a change since I worked all summer at a daycare, had a weekend job at a baby store, and basically spent any remaining hours obsessing over how much I love babies. Needless to say, I still have an intense love for small children. Just maybe not in college this semester. Anyway, at 5:30 PM I began my first adventure to SCAPP for the beginning classes of Casa de Cultura. There were about 20 female volunteers and of course 3 students, only one of whom was another female. The students (what an odd thing to say since they're all older than me) were more than enthusiastic to have us there. Most of them- well, all but one, had children and were looking to improve their english for a plethora of reasons. The first student I met (whose name has escaped me) was basically an English-learning beast. She had such great,... (more)

Maternal Madness
Ending the Maternal Madness
So, as I wrote this blog, I discovered such horrific feelings bubbling up inside of me. I am a person who does NOT enjoy wallowing in the muck and found myself doing so. I just don't enjoy the feeling of living in all the muck I have felt in my life. I rather enjoy the happiness I discover and the happy the Lord brings to me. So I have ended this blog. I would rather now not to bring up the feelings of scared and unhappy but rather the joy of my life now. I am such a happy woman, I have been blessed with an amazing marriage and sweet grown children. I really pray that you have been blessed with happiness as well. Maybe I will start a blog on something happier but I am done writing about the muck. God bless you always and I pray blessings of goodness, forgiveness and happiness to you beyond the madness of your parent. Love, OB~

Truth in Love
Repent America
Link: Repent Author: Ron Graham Source: Rapture Ready “Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib…: Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. From the sole of the foot even unto the head [there is] no soundness in it; [but] wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment,” (Isaiah 1:2 – 4, 6) The Lord has spoken even to us living in the United States of America and He expects us to pay attention to His warnings. But do we? Not so you’d notice. What a privilege to have been born in America and brought up... (more)

pope francis
"the last will be first, and the first, last" (Matthew 20:16). You probably heard the news story that Pope Francis will visit the Philippines in January, 2015. But you may not have heard this story of the Pope's earlier visit to New York City. It seems His Holiness was traveling to a much anticipated, historic meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations, and restless from his long journey, was eager to arrive at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport. As the the pilot started his approach, due to unsafe wind conditions, he was instead instructed to land at Newark Airport in New Jersey. When the plane finally touched down, the Pope, now a bit agitated, was whisked away in a limousine to his meeting. With only minutes to spare, he sat anxiously in the back seat of the vehicle. "Can you drive a bit faster my son?" the Pope gently asked the chauffeur. "I'm terribly sorry Your Holiness," the limousine driver begged, "but I can't afford another speeding ticket. I... (more)
